SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS 2024-2025 | | Thank you for your interest in the Pittsford Central School District! We are seeking bus drivers to join our team. We have full and part-time positions with flexible hours. We offer paid training, competitive pay, and generous benefits. As a bus driver, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and routine daily maintenance checks of a school bus used in the transport of students on an assigned route to and from school and on athletic and field trips. They will need to be able to operate a full-sized or mini-sized school bus or van, and/or transport passengers with or without disabilities. Assistant School Lunch Manager | | The Pittsford Central School District is looking for an Assistant School Lunch Manager. This is a 12-month, 260-day, Monday–Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm position. However, due to the nature of this position, these hours may flex occasionally due to business needs and meetings. The position will also be on call in the event of any off-hours equipment failures or emergencies. This position assists in the supervision of food services to efficiently and economically provide nutritious lunches for school children. Employees are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of school kitchens and cafeterias, while monitoring and reviewing procedures and practices. Additional duties include managing, coordinating, inventorying, and tracking necessary supplies, goods, foodstuffs, and other related materials. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a School Lunch Manager or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required. Job Duties & Responsibilities (In accordance with the School Lunch Manager): - Developing menus that meet dietary requirements and nutritional standards
- Hiring, training, scheduling, supervising & evaluating staff
- Filling in for managers and/or food service staff when required
- Planning, directing & coordinating food service department activities
- Manage the purchasing, inventory and related logistics for food, equipment and supplies
- Prepare & manage the food service budget
- Handle parent, student and staff complaints and suggestions with a high level of customer service
- Implement and maintain hygiene and safety procedures in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Ensure all food preparation and storage areas meet health & safety standards
- Attending local, regional and national meetings & conferences to stay current with emerging trends and products, enhance knowledge and participate in the cooperative bidding process.
- Participates in district meetings, committees and initiatives
- Performs general administrative/clerical work, including, but not limited to, preparing correspondence and food service documents and reports, entering and retrieving computer data, verifying data accuracy, copying and filing, bill-paying, payroll, deposit preparation, etc.
- Manages, operates, trains and assists staff with our food service operating system.
- Plans, coordinates and executes catering events.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services
Job Requirements - Resourcefulness, cleanliness and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, which includes the ability to be on your feet for 8 hours and lift 50 pounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Food Service POS Systems.
- Proven track record of successful food service management and culinary expertise

There is a regular, ongoing need for both half and full day substitutes.
