Clerk III Faculty Secretary - Jefferson Road Elementary

The Pittsford Central School District is seeking a Faculty Secretary at Jefferson Road Elementary School. This is a 10-month + up to 10 work days over vacations/summer position with paid holidays and benefits. The days/hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm (to be decided between building and successful candidate) based on building needs. The Faculty Secretary works closely with the building and other secretarial staff to independently perform their clerical duties, which require a moderate degree of decision-making. The successful candidate should possess computer skills as the use of Microsoft Office Suites is an integral part of this position. The candidate will work with the building to carry out their assignment in accordance with well-defined objectives, policies and procedures, with detailed instructions given for new or difficult assignments.   

Typical duties of the faculty secretary may include but not be limited to:

  • Type correspondence, reports and evaluations from rough or finished copy
  • Compose and type routine letters of inquiry or response
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, bulletins, and other materials by gathering information from reports, requesting and controlling the return of information, and by typing and assembling the finished product
  • Inform all staff of office and school procedures, programs, activities
  • Operate a variety of office machines, such as a personal computer, calculator and photo copier
  • Answer the telephone; obtains and gives out routine information, referring calls, or taking messages
  • Act as a receptionist by greeting visitors, obtaining and giving out information, directing visitors to the proper office, or notifying others of visitors and appointments
  • Document and maintain daily attendance and payroll records

Extended School – Special Education Clerical Support

Dates:                    July 6 – August 14, 2026

Hours:                   Six hours per day- (8:30 am – 2:30 pm)

Compensation:     $16.00/hr. for those not currently employed by the District or current employee's 26-27 rate.  

                       

Clerical Position:

Clinical support is needed to support our Extended School Year program.  Duties include answering the telephone, greeting visitors, checking in students who arrive late, communicating with the transportation department, and assisting administrative staff.

Part Time Student Support Teacher Clerk

The Pittsford Central School District is seeking an Office Clerk III part-time Student Support Teacher Clerk for Park Road. The successful candidate's work schedule (hours and days) will be agreed upon by the candidate and the building administration. This is a 10-month position. The Student Support Teacher Clerk will be responsible for the independent performance of clerical duties and requires a moderate degree of decision-making. The use of a personal computer for word processing and database entry and manipulation is an integral part of this position. The work is performed in accordance with well-defined objectives, policies and procedures, but detailed instructions are given for new or difficult assignments. The work is typically submitted in its final form and is subject to general review by superiors. The successful candidate will perform related work as required and should possess or be able to acquire IEP Direct skills. Candidate should possess the title of Office Clerk III or meet the minium requirements to accept the job and sit for the Office Clerk III exam when the test is next administered.

Clerical Substitutes for the 2025-2026 School Year - K-12 Openings2025-2026 School Year

The Pittsford Central School District is seeking per diem substitute clerical professionals for the 2025-2026 school year. There is a regular, ongoing need for both half and full-day substitutes. Individuals will provide secretarial support to a building or to the various district offices as dictated by the coverage posting.

Typical duties of the counseling secretary may include but not be limited to:

  • Prepare and formats legal documents, certifications, authorizations, forms, and other related paperwork
  • Enter and extract data and information from a database
  • Post and maintain moderately difficult records requiring general knowledge of department or agency functions

The Pittsford Central School District is seeking counseling office secretary for Mendon High School. This is a 12-month, 260 work days, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm position. This is an entry-level secretarial position responsible for performing routine secretarial tasks. The use of a personal computer for word processing and database entry is an integral part of this position. The successful employee will serve as secretarial support to the building. The work is done in accordance with well-defined objectives, policies and procedures, but detailed instructions are given for new or difficult assignments. The work is typically submitted in its final form and is subject to general review by superiors. Independent judgment is restricted to the application of standard procedures to specific cases. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of building administration and/or a higher-level staff member.

Office Account Clerk

The Pittsford Central School District is looking for an Office Account Clerk. This is a Monday–Friday, 260 work days (12-months) a year position from 8:00am - 4:30pm. This is a clerical Business Office position involving routine calculating, posting, data input, reconciliations, and standard business office transactions in both accounts payable and payroll. The successful candidate will assist a more experienced worker in performing the more difficult tasks as needed. They will also be expected to work independently on assignments involving the application of well-defined procedures and practices. The Office Account Clerk will report directly to, and work under the general supervision of the District Treasurer.  Does related work as required. Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: All need not be performed in a given position. Other related activities may be performed although not listed.

  • Post to journal or ledger accounts routine details of business transactions such as appropriations, pay and expense vouchers, disbursements, payroll deductions, remittances paid and due, checks and claims
  • Compile data for, prepare, and type simple financial and statistical reports
  • Post adjustments to ledger accounts
  • Verify and reconcile accounting balances according to prescribed procedures
  • Prepare (not analyze) simple financial statements
  • Review and check routine accounting records and reports for arithmetical and clerical accuracy
  • Inputs payroll and accounts payable transactions into financial software
