Extended School Year Classes – Special Education

Dates:                    July 8 – August 16, 2024

Hours:                   Generally 6 hours per day, but hours may vary according to the individual student needs (8:30 am – 2:30 pm)

Compensation:     $15.00/hr. for those not currently employed by the District or current employee's 24-25 rate.  

Paraprofessional Positions:

Paraprofessional positions are needed for various students with varied locations and times.

Please indicate your interest with the understanding that matches with students will be made at a later date.  (Preference will be given to applicants who commit to all six weeks of the program.)

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:  Summer Grounds Helper

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Grounds

DURATION: Seasonal/Summer, 30+ hours per week

COMPENSATION: Minimum Wage plus $.10 and $.10 each consecutive year of working in the same position 

CERTIFICATION: None- Must be 18 years or older

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

At Pittsford Schools, we pride ourselves on maintaining a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our students, staff, and families. As we prepare for the busy summer season, we are seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our team as a Summer Grounds Helper.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

As a Summer Grounds Helper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of our grounds. Working under the supervision of our groundskeeping team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Grounds Maintenance with Landscaping Support
2. Trash Removal
3. Equipment Operation
4. Assisting with Special Projects
5. Safety Compliance
6. Communication       

Pittsford Schools is seeking school lunch aides to support students in lunch and during recess.  Elementary school level positions involve assisting students in the lunch line, supervising the cafeteria as students eat, assisting with food packaging, etc.  These positions also consist of overseeing recess.  Middle school level positions involve cafeteria/commons supervision.  All shifts are mid-day, late morning to early afternoon, and are fromm 2.5 hours to 3 hours in length, Monday-Friday.

We are seeking paraprofessionals to work at the high school level for the 2023-2024 school year.  Most of these positions are working one to one with students in need of additional adult support between the hours of 7:30-2:30, with some starting starting earlier and/or ending later.
