The Pittsford Central School District is in need of a District Courier. This is a 12-month, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm position based out of Barker Road East that will be responsible for delivery of materials, supplies, and mail throughout the school district and community at large. While there will be a great deal of independent work associated with this position, the successful candidate will report directly to, and works under the general direction of a department head or other higher-level staff person. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (All need not be performed in a given position. Other related activities may be performed though not listed).
- Conduct regular courier services to and from various district offices and buildings
- Conduct regular courier services in the community at large, off campus locations
- Deliver messages, supplies and materials either by operating a motor vehicle or walking, depending on the distance between locations
- Pick up mail at the post office and deliver to various departments
- Make small purchases and pick-ups
- Operate postage meter and sort and bundle mail
- Prepare and handle special mailings, i.e., Federal Express, registered mail, etc
- Keep a simple clerical records of activities and items delivered
- Maintain logs, lists and indexes
- Perform minor maintenance tasks in connection with the vehicle driven
